BODHI 2019 – INTER DISCIPLINARY SEMINAR
The departments of English and Sanskrit jointly organized an inter disciplinary seminar titled BODHI 2019 on the topic “Bharatiya Kavyasasthra” in the college Seminar Hall on 11th February 2019 at 10:00 am. The inaugural session of the seminar began with the welcome speech by Dr. Sreejith TG, Assistant Professor of Sanskrit. Dr. Vrinda V, HoD of English presided over the meeting and Dr. K Beena, Principal, KSMDB College inaugurated the session. Dr. Poojappura Krishnan Nair (formerly Professor, KSMDB College) delivered the keynote address on the topic Bharatiya Kavyasasthra in which he discussed in detail Indian Aesthetics and its influence on Western literary canon followed by an interactive session with the audience. The second session of the seminar was devoted exclusively for paper presentations of the students as well as teachers from both the departments which was chaired by Dr. Poojappura Krishnan Nair. The session came to a close with Parvathi S, convener of the seminar proposing vote of thanks.
SEMINAR ON POSTSTRUCTURALISM
The English Association ‘AELSA’ and Seminar Committee jointly organized a seminar on poststructuralism titled “The Archeology of Knowledge : The Unities of Discourse” in the Smart Classroom on 14th February 2019 at 10:30 am. The inaugural session of the seminar began with the welcome speech by Prof. KR Sankaranarayanan, Associate Professor of English. Dr. Vrinda V, HoD of English presided over the meeting and Dr. R S Harikumar, HoD of Hindi and Dr. Mini R Nair, Associate Professor of English felicitated the meeting. Prof. P Harikrishna, Associate Professor of English, NSS College, Pandalam delivered the keynote address on the topic The Archeology of Knowledge : The Unities of Discourse in which he discussed Foucault’s poststructural concepts followed by an interactive session with the students. The session came to a close with Parvathi S, convener of the seminar proposing vote of thanks

The English Association ‘AELSA’ and Seminar Committee jointly organized a seminar on Feminism titled “When Language Fails: Reading Women’s Narratives” in the Digital Seminar Hall on 5th February 2019 at 10:00 am. The inaugural session of the seminar began with the welcome speech by Dr. Sushil Kumar R, Associate Professor of English. Dr. Vrinda V, HoD of English presided over the meeting and Prof. T G Ranganathan, Associate Professor of English(Rtd) felicitated the meeting. Dr. Swapna Gopinath, Associate Professor of English, SN College, Chempazhanthy delivered the keynote address on the topic When Language Fails: Reading Women’s Narratives in which she discussed in detail the female narratives and the language of female writers followed by an interactive session with the students. The session came to a close with Parvathi S, convener of the seminar proposing vote of thanks.

The Department of English and Seminar Committee jointly organized a seminar on Informatics titled “ Informatics: Operating Systems, Networking and Internet” in the Smart Classroom on 6th August 2018 at 10:30 am. The inaugural session of the seminar began with the welcome speech by Prof. A Suman, Associate Professor of English. Dr. Vrinda V, HoD of English presided over the meeting and Dr. C Unnikrishnan, HoD of Malayalam and Prof. Sandhya C Vidyadharan, Associate Professor of English felicitated the meeting. Prof. P K Shobha, Associate Professor of Computer Science, Sree Ayyappa College, Eramallikkara delivered the keynote address on the topic Informatics: Operating Systems, Networking and Internet in which she introduced various types of operating systems and networking followed by an interactive session with the students. The session came to a close with Prof. S Mini, Associate Professor of English proposing vote of thanks.
