Fund for Improvement of Science & Technology (FIST) Infrasture is an initiative of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India offering financial support to Universities and other higher educational institutions. Established in the year 2000, it is intended for the selective strengthening of infrastructure for postgraduate education and research in emerging areas. The support for five years to the institution is to augment teaching and research facilities in four areas i.e, Basic Equipment, Networking and Computational facilities, Research Infrastructure and maintenance of equipment. The scheme is called based and provides support with due diligence.
Our college has been selected for FIST support in the year 2019. Dr.B Beena, Associate Professor in the dept. of Chemistry is the co-coordinator for the same. We have been granted an amount of Rs.69.4 lakhs with the following allocation.

The research equipments included in this scheme are UV-Visible Spectrophotometer with DRS attachment and Spectroflurimeter. In addition to this, a number of other equipments needed for P.G and U.G teaching in the departments of Chemistry, Physics, Botany and Zoology are also identified.
It is expected that the effective implementation and utilization of FIST support would bring about quality improvement in both teaching and research components of the science departments, especially the P.G departments of our college.
