UN International Year of Millets was celebrated at KSMDB College, Sasthamcotta by planting 9 different varieties of Millets in Botany Garden. Principal Prof .Dr K. C. Prakash inaugurated the function by planting Jowar seeds. Head of the Department of Botany Dr GeethaKrishnan Nair was present on the occassion and he spoke about the importance of Millets in day to day life. Head of the Department of Political Science Dr Anish K, Head of the Department of Malayalam Aathman A V, NSS Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Department of Political Science Dr Arun Shanoj, Bhoomitra Sena Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Botany Ms Lekshmy Sreekumar, Guest faculties Ms Meenu Darsana, Ms.Sherins, students of department of Botany, Biodiversity Club and Bhoomithra Sena club were also present in the function. Famous Agripreneur of India Mr Prasanth Jagan of Jagans Agro Food Products has donated the seeds.
