Report of Ozone Day Programme
Dept. of Zoology, KSMDB College, Sasthamcotta in association with Social Forestry Extension Unit, Kollam conducted a seminar on World Ozone Day - 2023, “Fixing the Ozone Layer and Climate Change” on 14th September 2023 at 11.00 am in Digital Seminar Hall. The programme started with a prayer by Abhirami S (I DC Zoology) and Dr. Prathibha Kumari (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Zoology) welcomed the audience. The session was presided over by Dr. Manju. M, HOD of Zoology. The function was Inaugurated by Dr. K.C Prakash (Principal, KSMDBC Sasthamcotta). The keynote address was offered by Sri Dinesh S (Deputy Conservator of Forest RTD). Sri Harilal K.S, Sri Gopakumar P.S ( Deputy Range forest Officers) and Sri Raji S.R (Section Forest Officer) offered the felicitations. The session was quite informative, useful and interesting for the students with beautiful powerpoint presentation. Impact of Global warming, Causes of depletion of Ozone Layer, Effect of Greenhouse gases and its source`s etc. were well explained during the seminar. The seminar was concluded by giving a token of appreciation to the resource person with a Memento and Archana R babu (III DC Zoology) proposed the vote of thanks.
