Right from its inception the Department has attempted to set high standards of teaching and learning and became a Post- Graduate Department in the year 1999. Apart from BSc and MSc Degree Programs, It offers Mathematics as a Complementary Course for the Physics, Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry and Statistics Degree Programs. The Department also offers a Course in Operations Research for aspiring students from non-Mathematics Degree streams as an Open Course. A high standard is maintained in the department when it comes to developing young minds. Many students in the department are members of NSS and NCC and take part in camps and other social welfare programs.
