ANNUAL ENDOWMENT DISTRIBUTION AND SEMINAR
The Department of English organized the Annual Endowment Distribution LITARENA 2017 and a Seminar on the topic “The Politics of Popular literature” in the Seminar Hall on 20th November 2017 at 10:00 am. The inaugural session of the seminar began with the welcome speech by Prof. KR Sankaranarayanan, Associate Professor of English. Dr. Mohan Kumar, Principal, KSMDB College presided over the meeting and Prof. T G Ranganathan, Associate Professor of English (Rtd) felicitated the meeting. Prof. P Unnikrishnan Potti, Associate Professor of English (Rtd) distributed the endowmrnts to the students. Prof. P K Chandramathi, Writer and Associate Professor of English (Rtd) delivered the keynote address on the topic The Politics of Popular Literature in which she discussed the politics of popular literature and its influence on the reading public. It was followed by an interactive session with the students. The session came to a close with Dr. Vrinda V, Associate Professor of English proposing vote of thanks.
