Commemoration of Dr. Poovatoor N. Ramakrishna Pillai 2023
The Commemoration of Dr. Poovatoor N. Ramakrishna Pillai, the famous Sanskrit scholar and former Principal of Sasthamcotta Devaswom Board College was held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the college seminar hall. Dr. Susant S., Head, Department of Sanskrit presided over the function. Dr. Sreegith T.G., Assistant Professor of Sanskrit delivered Welcome speech. The commemoration ceremony was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. (Prof.) K.C. Prakash. Former Head, Department of Sanskrit Dr. K. Santhosh delivered commemoration speech. Dr. Harikrishnan V.P., Assistant Professor, School of Spiritual and Cultural Studies, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham delivered the memorial lecture on "Digital World for Sanskrit Research". The new initiative of the Sanskrit Department- Shastraposhini was inaugurated. The new initiative is intended for students to acquire skills in Sanskrit language and the scriptures. The University rank holders of the Department Amita S, Anjali I.M. and Sridevi S., and Students Vaishnav V. and Jayasurya who have shown excellence in sports were felicitated. Along with this, distribution of endowment for students was also held. IQAC Coordinator Dr. Radhika G. Nath offered felicitations. With the vote of thanks by the convener Dr. Susmi Sabu the programme was ended. Former teachers, alumni, staff, family members and students of the college participated in the program.
